Animal Mission
Case Study

The shelter project is a classic example of using early private monies and a network of friends and supporters to leverage significant governmental support.

While there was some political support for public funding for a new community animal shelter, it did not translate into enough to build the facility the community needed and deserved. Under these circumstances, the Board of the Animal Mission stepped up to the plate early and agreed to raise and give significant money. On a concurrent track, the Animal Mission launched a membership program in order to expend its political network and community of friends and financial supporters.

Over time, these developments were critical in securing the public financial commitment to build the facility. The Animal Mission has only itself to thank for doing such a tremendous job.
